The ultimate shopping experience in Kuwait... visit The Avenues, the biggest shopping mall in kuwait
The Avenues, Kuwait's largest mall and the one of the Middle East's premier retail and leisure destinations, officially opened (its phase 1) in April 2007. It is located in Kuwait's bustling Al Rai district, houses some of the world's best known and most-loved brands and will become one of the regions most sought after entertainment destinations.
The Avenues has been designed to reflect the natural forms and elements of the desert. Its flowing architecture has set new standards in contemporary building and it is a dazzling addition to the retail landscape of the Arab World. The sand dunes, rock formations and wide sky of the desert have inspired different areas of the mall with the interior carefully crafted using material from 15 countries. In addition to this, it has been built using environment friendly techniques, which has meant the maximum use of natural light and substantial energy savings.
The Avenues is being developed in four phases. Phase One has 170,000 square meters (1.8 million square feet) of gross leasable area, equivalent to 25 football pitches. Phase Two, scheduled to open early in 2008, will add another 60,000 square meters (600,000 square feet) of leisure and retail space and will make the Avenues one of the largest malls in the world.
The third phase will include a spa, restaurants, an entertainment centre and boutique mall, along with impressive water features, and is estimated to be complete at the end of 2009. A state-of-the-art business centre, with four star hotels, offices, convention centre and a theatre will be opened as part of Phase Four in late 2010.
World famous anchor stores and leading brands from across Europe, the United States, Asia and Africa have already made a home at the Avenues. The tenants in Phase One include the largest IKEA in the region, the first Carrefour hypermarket in Kuwait and a 10 screen Cineplex. International high fashion and luxury brands have joined them, such as Debenhams, Gap, Banana Republic, Bershka, H&M and Zara. By the time the Avenues is complete it will be a haven of more than 40 restaurants and cafes.
The mall's design is the brainchild of NORR Consultants International, the architects responsible for some of the most distinctive buildings in the Middle East and around the world.
Mabanee Company S.A.K is proud to be associated with The Avenues, a landmark development for the nation of Kuwait, its people and the region.
