THE AVENUES - BAHRAIN
The Avenues - Bahrain is the first shopping & Leisure destination of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with a unique seafront location stretching 1.5 km. strategically located in the heart of Manama, along King Faisal Road. The development brings a new concept to the Kingdom, with a design inspired by The Avenues - Kuwait that gives the visitors an outdoor feeling while remaining indoors, protected from the heat by a ceiling that allows sunlight in.
The project’s leasing space is around 40,000 sqm includes 130 stores, 50% are allocated for restaurants and cafes which will overlook Bahrain Bay. It also includes a large family entertainment areas such as a special play hall, 10 cinemas, public park, walkways and parking spaces.
Official approval has been obtained for the construction of Phase II of the project. This will add another 30,000 sqm in leasing space, as well as new districts. This will make The Avenues - Bahrain an attractive destination for citizens, as well as for tourists from the GCC and other countries who come for shopping, leisure and a good stay.
GRAND AVENUE
The Grand Avenue brings the evolution of Bahrain together, the design reflects the transition of decades throughout the facade of these buildings. The design will be an exciting place for local people as well as giving visitors a taste of how Bahrain had developed over time. Its design will create a vibrant and fun atmosphere with the mix and match variety of design elements from the decades, a real cosmopolitan space which is light and airy within this central atrium space.
THE HARBOUR
The Harbour will be the beacon of the development. Situated between The Grand Avenue and The Village, it represents Bahrain at its best. Its design reflects the Bahrain of old and new and creates a special environment that both local people and visitors will be able to enjoy and relate to. It is the center of Bahrain life and the core of commercial trade. This district will incorporate dining areas facing the bay and both anchor shops and department stores where the shopping experience will feel truly special by the grand space in its vicinity. It is envisaged that The Forum will be the most celebrated meeting place in Bahrain.
The Avenues-Bahrain Phase II project
Phase II will add a leasable area of approximately 40,000 square meters, and will contain 218 stores and restaurants, two entertainment zones, a supermarket, and a basement car park with 1,330 parking spaces. The combined gross leasable area of both phases will be approximately 75,000 sqm.
The new phase will include new beautifully-designed districts which promise to provide visitors with a modern and exciting shopping experience, namely: The Forum, Grand Plaza, Electra, The Souk, as well as an expansion of Grand Avenue which is currently experiencing a strong footfall from The Avenues – Bahrain visitors; each district will have its unique character expressed through its architectural style inspired by modern concepts and diverse cultures.
The extension plan will also include two pedestrian bridges, the first linking The Avenues – Bahrain to Bahrain Bay and the other with the Bahrain World Trade Center and Moda Mall. The project will expand the public promenade by an additional 600 meters west along the waters of Bahrain Bay, becoming the largest entertainment center facing the sea with a total length of 1.3 km.
